Resembling a lament of an old woman, Sainkho’s performance depicts the rage of the mountain spirit over the loss of its springs. Her magical expression of innermost feeling flows naturally, can seem chilling, yet transmits liberating and therapeutic effect.

First edition of the Lost River was recorded in 1991, in Germany.

Sainkho is an experimental singer originally from Tuva, currently based in Vienna, Austria. She is proficient in overtone singing; her music encompasses avant-jazz, electronica, modern composition and Tuvan influences.
